Uploading the XML Sitemap to the Dashboard of Your Website

STEP 1: Log in to your website dashboard (if you don't know how to do this, click here). Once you're in, click on the Design tab to the left, then click on the Advanced tab.

STEP 2: Scroll down until you see the Custom Sitemap option. Click the Choose File button.

You will see your computer's file browser. Navigate to the sitemap file and and double-click on it. You'll see the sitemap file to the right of the Choose File button. Click the Upload button below. Finally, click the Save button at the top right of the page.

Submitting Your Sitemap to Google

You need to submit the URL of your XML sitemap to Google. Here's how to find that URL:

STEP 1: If you are doing this directly after uploading your sitemap file, you'll be in the right spot. Otherwise, navigate back to the page where you uploaded the sitemap (Design > Advanced > scroll down to the Custom Sitemap section). Once you're here, click on the sitemap file you've already uploaded.

A new window will appear with the XML sitemap code. In the address bar, you'll see the file's URL. This is what we want. Click on it to highlight it, then right click and select Copy. You now have the URL to submit to Google for your sitemap.
